Grassroots volunteers providing humanitarian aid to those in need
We are grassroots volunteers who provide food and supplies, advocacy, and financial assistance to people who need help because of violent conflict, natural disasters, poverty, and injustice.
Aid For Ukrainians
During the past four years, PlebeianHelpers has received over $1,150,000 from over 1,500 donations to enable approximately 60 of our volunteers to travel to Ukraine and Poland at their own expense to purchase at wholesale prices and deliver goods and services for thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
The Ukrainian people need our help now more than ever. Over 8 million Ukrainians have fled the country, more than 5 million have been displaced within Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and tens of thousands of civilians have been killed or injured. Residential areas, hospitals, schools, energy infrastructure and industrial facilities have been completely destroyed. Yet, much of the humanitarian aid previously provided by Western governments has been withdrawn.
No Director or Officer receives any money or any benefit in return for their services for PlebeianHelpers. PlebeianHelpers volunteers pay for their own travel, room, and board. 100% of the money received by PlebeianHelpers is used only for whatever is necessary to provide humanitarian aid for Ukrainians.
Our Work In 2026
Once again, our volunteers travelled to Poland and Ukraine at their own expense to purchase food and basic living supplies for Ukrainians. We expanded our efforts by distributing goods to Ukrainians in need out of the PlebeianHelpers Aid Centers in Krakow, Poland and in Kyiv, Mykolaiv and Lutzk, Ukraine.
In addition to providing basic living supplies to thousands of Ukrainians, we used donations:
to provide $20,000 for materials to build houses in the Kerson Oblast in southeastern Ukraine for displaced Ukrainians who have lost their homes;
to provide $80,000 worth of generators and heat briquettes to keep Ukrainians warm during the winter months when the Russians attacked Ukrainian infrastructure to leave civilians without power;
to provide $30,000 to buy two emergency vehicles to rescue civilians injured by Russian attacks in the war zone;
to transport $350,000 worth of medical supplies from Partners for World Health to the PlebeianHelpers Aid Center in Kyiv for distribution by UAid Direct to medical facilities throughout Ukraine;
to provide $40,000 to refurbish the 150 year old Phoenix Castle in Zaklad near Lviv to provide rehabilitation housing facilities for War Veteran Families and aid for displaced Ukrainians;
to provide $10,000 in financial support for participation in a Kidsave Mentoring Program in Kyiv for Ukrainian teenagers;
to provide $15,000 for Polish language classes for dozens of Ukrainian refugees in Poland; and
to provide $15,000 to build a new PlebeianHelpers Aid Distribution Center in Lutsk, Ukraine;
to provide $15,000 for basic living supplies and support services, including participation in a camp for displaced Ukrainians living in or near Lutsk, Ukraine;
and to provide $20,000 of basic living supplies to dozens of Ukrainian refugees who met with our volunteers to share their stories and to describe their present living conditions in or near Krakow.

The PlebeianHelpers Aid Centers
We are also asking for your financial assistance to provide support for the PlebeianHelpers Aid Centers in Kyiv, Mykolaiv and in Lutsk, which will serve as major focal points for the distribution of food, water, school supplies, medical equipment and other basic necessities to Ukrainians suffering in the conflict zone and throughout Ukraine as a result of Russia’s war of aggression in violation of international law.

Reconstruction Of Homes
PlebeianHelpers intends to partner with other humanitarian groups to address the substantial need for home reconstruction in Ukraine. In August 2025, PlebeianHelper volunteer Dr. Peter Kerndt launched our construction efforts by building homes in the Mykolaiv area in southeastern Ukraine as part of a project sponsored by Youth With A Mission (Kyiv). PlebeianHelpers also contributed funds to procure the construction materials.
We will not abandon the Ukrainians.
PlebeianHelpers was founded on the notion that common people of all countries are connected by our humanity. Western governments might withdraw military aid to Ukraine and they might even withdraw humanitarian aid for Ukrainians but PlebeianHelpers is proudly among those all over the world who will remain standing for the Ukrainian people who are suffering as a result of Russia’s war of aggression in violation if international law.
If we help sustain the Ukrainians, we are conveying a powerful message: “Hang in there. You’re not alone. We’re still with you.” It will give them the hope they need to resist Russia’s objective to eradicate Ukraine’s sovereignty.
